About the Fair

Established in
1879
The Carman Country Fair is one of Manitoba’s oldest running fairs, established in 1879 and hosted by the Dufferin Agricultural Society Inc. As a member of the Canadian Association of Fairs and Exhibitions, it holds significant cultural and emotional value to the local community, defining a sense of community that grows social capital and enhances the quality of life. The fair owes its success to the support of generous sponsors and countless volunteers who devote their time and energy to its organization.

The three-day event, starting on the second Thursday of July, offers a diverse range of activities and events, including 4-H and livestock shows, craft, flower, and baking competitions, trade show venues, and a lively midway. It serves as an opportunity for community members to celebrate individual talents, forge new friendships, and enjoy the festivities.

In addition to showcasing rural life, the fair provides a platform for local businesses and entrepreneurs to promote their products and services. Visitors can browse and shop for unique and handcrafted items, and engage in innovative, educational community and fundraising events that celebrate local heritage and support the festivals initiatives.

The 4-H and livestock shows promote the value of hard work, dedication, and respect for the land and animals. They celebrate the rich agricultural heritage of the region and provide a platform for farmers and agricultural producers to showcase their products and contributions to the community. The craft, flower, and baking competitions draw participants from all over the region who compete for prizes and recognition.

Beyond the events and activities, the fair fosters a sense of camaraderie and community among volunteers and visitors alike. It’s a testament to the strong spirit and values of the people of Carman, and an opportunity to celebrate an important legacy while ensuring a sustainable future for the community and the planet. Mark your calendars and join us for a weekend of fun, excitement, and celebration at the Carman Country Fair!

Where to find Exhibitor/Vendor Applications and Contact info?
Info can be found online at this link.
When will I receive my Exhibit Entry Tags?
Entry tags have to be emailed out manually. We do our best to catch up on sending tags by the end of the day. If you have not received your tags by email, please reach out to us right away. If you have a common last name, your tags may have accidentaly be sent to a family with the same name.

If you do not have a printer, please contact us, we can print them out for you at the office.

Entry tags can be sent exhibitor by exhibitor, or we can select multiple exhibitors at a time and send to 1 email. If I see back to back entries under the same last name, I assume they all belong to the same family unit and send them as a collection (vs 4 or 5 seperate emails). If you received someone else’s tags in error, please let me know. If you have not recieved your tags- this is a mistake on my end, please let me know so I can get them to you right away! Hopefully next year this will be more streamlined and tags will (hopefully) get sent out automatically
